... and if we just ... You might own a 29er if...

Jokes, comebacks or zingers you have heard or thought of regarding 29er supremacy

...26" = kiddie wheels, little wheels...

...you take "clown bike", "circus bike" and "wagon wheels" as compliments...

...Proud Mary is on your mp3 playlist: "big wheel keep on turning..."

...I can ride a Big Mama, while my wife rides a Tallboy...

...you're 6'8" and your bike looks proportional...

...you're 5' and your bike looks like a micro machine...

...you aren't afraid of 27" holes...

...you know about contact patch proportions (and care)...

...you consider <17" HT & <18" FS chainstays short...

    ...size does matter...

And last, but not least (for now)
...you kissed a Tallboy, and you liked it...

I know you all have heard or know some good ones, please post!

More to come, looking forward to your responses...

    ...hurtful...that's just wrong...haters gonna hate!!!

What forum are you hearing this in? Or, are you just getting it from a couple members? FWIW, I don't agree with them that you post too much in any forum. We could get a few others and increase the 29er presence in that forum or with those posters...

Anywho, IMO, if you are spreading the 29er supremacy, no matter what forum or members, you should be allowed to express your opinions! For them to try and sway you into changing your username to something more reflective of your ride or opinion is just nutty...you should keep Ryan G., although baycat was cool, too. FWIW, they are both unique. Be proud of who you are and your username, no need to try for something that reflects your 29er passion. Or just use one of the above comebacks and let them have it...(although, that may have been what started all of this...)

Here's one you can use no matter 29er or 26er...
Don't hate the playa...hate the game!!!

    Thanks chase.

Maybe in 6-10 years I'll get tired of hearing similar posts and threads about: Which bike? How does this compare to that? Anyone try this? What if I...? My budget is $$$, what bike? HT or FS? 29er or 36er?

Probably not, because bikes change, components change, new experiences, new riding places, new innovations, new marketing hype, new members that have never seen a thread about...

And to use and modify (innovation) your word, if I may...
If I grow curmudgeony, anyone has my permission to PM me, or e-slap me (you can get that emo or jpeg from Jake)...

    Let's see...
    A Radio Flyer Trike
A Big Wheels Trike (<---the root of my 29er mentality?!)
    BMX Bike
    10-Speed Bike
    26" Full Suspension Bike
    Cruiser Bike
So...the point you are trying to assert is that I should give my Trikes another try?!?!?!
    It just...might...work...thanks for the recommendation!
Regardless, thanks Dr. Phil/Al for helping me stroll down memory lane and think of all the wonderful moments of pure joy that I have had in my life because a tri/bicycle was a part of it. Thanks for helping me realize how fortunate I am! and for helping me get to the bottom of the big wheel mentality...

Nice assumption in the mobile world we live in...

So while some enjoy video games, television and computers, I do not partake in those activities...my day is uber-prioritized, spending time with my wife and kids...I also enjoy (and have plenty of time for) traveling, golfing, skiing, days at the beach, days in the mountains, volleyball, hiking, biking and all sorts of other outdoorsy related activities...

IMO, my iPhone is more than capable for most everything I do...no matter if I am at home or on a ride (or any other aforementioned activity)...that's the beauty of mobility (<---pun intended)...it's amazing what can be done while waiting in line, too...never realized how much time we spend waiting...or on the pot...eewww (TMI, TMI)...find a happy place...find a Happy Place...find A HAPPY PLACE!

Anywho, thanks again Doc. I am extremely refreshed knowing how incredible my life is. Can we do this again next week? Maybe in a more private setting? Do you have an office? Is there a nice comfy couch? Are you going to want to know about my father? Am I being charged for this?

Sorry my posts did not bring a smile to your face and joy to your life, as yours did mine...

Okay, you caught me! Instead of "I do not partake", I should have stated, "very limited usage": TV (my boys watch, and I do "screen"...and there are times we'll do a family movie night), CPU (again, boys play, daddy monitors usage & content), Video Games (Family Wii Nights, wahoo!...)...alright, I feel better now that I have come clean! I hope my boys stay active and appreciate the outdoors as much as I do...and just in case you're wondering, FYI, not that much into Facebook or twitter, and I never post at work...YMMV (<---that one's for SL )...

BTW, anyone else see the irony of people being on MTBR and taking the time to post "get out and ride"?
They all must have MAD SKILLS! To text & ride...

(I know, this is not texting...and for the record, I do not condone texting & riding/driving or riding without a helmet... )

Drink the 29er kool-aid and stop sippin' the haterade...

Edit: No offense to the Women's Lounge Forum...or Women...or Forums...or Lounges, for that matter!

Cool-blue Rhythm You might own a 29er if...

...the phrases: "Drinking the Kool-Aid...", "Welcome to the Dark Side..." and "How's the air up there...?" mean something to you...

    Crudeness Alert: PG-17 Content...in 3...2...1...

..."69" means something totally different to you and doesn't sound as appealing...

Sorry for the less-than-appropriate terminology of the last one...

I'm all for fun banter back and forth, but what I can't figure out is if you think this is such a stupid thread and we're all a bunch of a$$clowns for contributing, why even waste your time on it? I mean, really, there's thousands of pointless, idiotic, childish, [email protected]$$ threads that go nowhere and accomplish nothing that are posted on MTBR. But you know what? I don't bother reading, posting, or otherwise messing with them! That's the beauty of these forums!

freaking wankers...where's the emoticon with the smiley face flipping the bird at all the d-bags when you need it?

FoShizzle and Aqua ride 29ers. They know more than anyone else here so how could it not be the most superior option?

Cool-blue Rhythm You might own a 29er if...

...9T-34T is appealing, but you still want more (9-36...10-38)...

...a tapered 150mm with a 15QR is okay, but where is the 20mm TA?!?!?!...

...you have to log out or sign-in invisible, so you can read Deuce9er's threads and/or posts so you are not shunned by any of the 29er Forum...

I haven't ridden a bike in 20 years but test drove both the 26 and 29ers, the 29ers won hands down. I found the biggest hole and went full blast in to it, smooth sailing compare to a very nice 26er.

Looks matter when it comes to "holes" not bikes, ha ha

You own multiple bikes, but only have one frame.

Cool-blue Rhythm You might own a 29er if...

...you didn't believe it was just a "fad", "craze", "trend", "cult", "novelty", "marketing ploy", "only for tall riders", a passing "revolution", a "bandwagon", etc...

...your "bookmarks" include: twentynineinches, bike29, 29eronline, Ninerbikes, mtb29er: (I know there are more...you get the picture...you can add more if you like)...

...you discuss how to pronounce and or spell "29er": twentyniner, twenty-niner, tweny-niner, two-niner, 29"er, 29'r...

...you only have a few selections for FR/DH tires...

...you are awaiting Ibis, Canfield, Knolly, Bionicon, Ghost, Storck, Cube, Orange, Mondragon, etc. (<---fill in your favorite 26" brand that does not have a 29er...YET!) to jump on board, so you can ride their bikes again...

    New Years Eve...

    2012...

Just in time to roll in 2013...

1000 posts in 5-months...maybe 1500 by years end (over/under)...so 4000 more in 20-months+/-...thanks for the challenging goal, though (sorry to disappoint)...

Sidenote: If I would have posted each response separately, this could have been 5-7 posts or more (I have combined quite a few responses in the past)...so, I may already be over 5000, if you look at it that way...

You might own a 29er if...

... after years of trying to explain it, you find yourself saying "See? I told you so." now that it's fashionable to ride a 29er.

..... you bought a taller van. (An Astro works well.)

.... you've taken up knitting to occupy the time while waiting for your riding buddies to catch up.

.... you only like to climb now.

.... you ignore rocks & roots.

.... you don't need trails anymore.

Duece you are too humble, but you are right you have many multiple responses so I take it back, but I still think you can do 2K
    (that is 1 Deuce9er post = 3.14 anybody else)

Seriously you are a great addition to the forum, I like the cut of your jib.

    I got one:

You post any bike related questions, comments, discussions in the 29er thread instead of brakes, drive train, suspension, singlespeed etc. because you would rather hear from like minded people.

perfectly guilty of this myself, I tend to use the 29er forum as the all purpose forum as do a lot of people it seems. lol

Or you ask questions like "should I buy/build another 29'er?" or "should I sell my 26'er?" or "will I be faster on a 29'er?" in the 29'er forum because you know you will like the answers.

Your posts bring a smile to MY face.

Some people think that snark equals smart and spend their time posting replies to posts that are really intended to show how much smarter they are than anyone else. Your posts don't give me that impression.

And, FWIW, I think your choice of nick works.

    Stay friendly and stay positive.
