This is for you Lefty lovers!

Ran accross this on Ebay. This would save someone alot of time, effort and work but I'm not sure I'd run something that I wasn't specifically involved in the manufaturing of. The risks are just too great.

    Pretty interesting product either way.

There's a handful of mtbr riders running this conversion with success so far.

There is also an eBayer in Canada that sells the same style steerer conversion.

Should be a couple of threads here on conversion.

It wasn't Francis, it was Tam I beleive who posted the specs on the steerer.

    Its a clone..

That guy in malaysia got a copy of plans from Terminaut - now he sells them w/o acknowledgement. I'd rather talk to pumpkinbiter (Jake at Project321) and get the custom clamp setup - which I did. Of course, they replaced my own DIY that I designed & built from scratch which will be blessing a carbon lefty once I get some other parts together (hub/wheel).

    Thanks for sharing.
This isn't a "you're doing it wrong" topic.

Actually, he does credit Terminaut/Tam in the PDF/Word doc install instructions that comes with the steerer.

Cool, but I just can't get over the asking price... $85 for a piece of machined 6061 from Malaysia! $85 will get you a 6' piece of 6061 and machine time will run you $50-75 an hour. Bet he's only got $10-15 total in one.

Tam is credited as follows on the last page of the instructions:

    SPECIAL THANKS
    Tam
(for sharing this steer tube design with me)

    Touche!

Of course I was refering to (what seems to be) a less-than-mass produced prototype from a stranger in Malaysia (sans R&D 'and prolly liablity insurance too') who borrowed the design from a DIY'r.
