    tubeless conversion on 29er wheels

I have the specialized 470sl DT Swiss wheel in the rear, and the specialized x470 in the front.. can I just run some stan's 29er rim strips and sealant in the rims and be tubeless with these wheels?

    Thanks

The 470 rim is very similar to the TK 7.1 in profile and width. Stans recommends the Plus Four rims strips over one layer of their universal tape (3/4" packing tape would work fine) for the TK 7.1.

I used 1 strip of Velox, with the Plus 4 strip in my TK 7.1's.

I wanted a slightly more snug tire bead fit to the strip as I tend to ride very rocky, off-camber stuff and I want to Have Faith in my wheels.

I'm currently running Kenda Nevegal 2.2's on them and they've been bomb-proof under any conditions, with pressures down under 20psi now and again as desired.

Even with my 200#(+) carcass, they've been rock-steady.

let me get this correct, so TK 7.1 is the same as the dt swiss 470's?
and i should get the plus four strips not the 29er strips, and seal the rim strips with either velox or packing tape?

The 470 is a disc specific rim that has the same dimensions as the TK 7.1 and Stans recommends the Plus Four rim strip for the TK 7.1 so that is what you should get.

i'd say just get the strips if it's cheaper and you already have lots of sealant, but does it hurt to have more sealant handy?
