    Swap a KM for a 1x1?

I know I know don't flame me too bad but anyway I thought I would throw this out just in case.

I've been reading about these 29ers and I'm finally sold on the idea, plus I've been getting beat by an guy on a 29er. So I'm ready to go for it!

Anybody what to trade a Karate Monkey for a 1x1?

I think you'll have more chance finding a swap candidate on the singlespeed forum, some people there still buy new 1x1's while having the option to go KM.
Pssssttt, rumor goes that a 1x1 will accept 29" wheels, but just have a higher BB. 31.5mm higher, to be exact. Just a thought to get you through the saving to get the KM you really want after all.

    interesting about the 1x1 rumour

i hadn't heard that anywhere before. would there be any advantages to going that route, vs the 29"er specific build of the monkey (toe overlap, etc)? a higher bb could be neat ... very interesting ...

    Thanks...

for the info guys. So a 1x1 can fit 29ers if you use discs or move the brake bosses. I thought I might even be able to run V brakes if I used the Paul MotoBMX brakes but after calling Paul they are too short (Paul already tried it).
