steel frame buildup...products for frame protection?

    hola,

I'm building up a KM and was wondering what is the best way to protect the interior of the frame from rust? I read linseed oil is an option but is there a product ya'll would recommend?

    thanks for the knowledge,

    Sean

Linseed oil will work, but there's a product specifically made for this purpose called JP Weigle's FrameSaver. Your lbs should have some.
When the going gets weird its bedtime.

The only way to go is the JP Weigle frame saver

Just put a coat on move the frame around to coat internally and properly. Wipe off the excess that leaks onto the paint with Alcohol, WD40 and then Alcohol, or some other mild detergent. Build and ride, knowing your frame is protected.

    maintenance

Frame saver is great, but it has to really coat all of the inside surfaces in order for it to work. Be thorough with it.

AND take your bike apart after you've ridden in wet conditions and help the trapped water to escape. Standing water in your frame is not good, Weigled, or not.
