sram x9 or shimano xt dynasys for 1x10??

can't make up my mind. I currently run xo but no opposed to using shimano.

it looks like the xt stuff might be heavier than x9

Sram IMO & if you are used to X0 you will love the new sram.

Yes. Rode a demo bike w/ XT Dynasys and was not impressed at all. Same model bike w/XO was great

I recently got xt cassette, mech, chain and shifter delivered to Australia for $200. Easy decision given the price difference of shimano and SRAM.

I was using xt (non dynasys) for a while and swithced to SRAM--much better. Took the dynasys off of my new bike and put on my old 9 speed sram stuff. My buddy also switched from xtr shifters to sram x9.

    point is.... I'd choose SRAM.

Well I have been trying to work out how to say how I find the sram 10 speed & the XT 10 speed stuff I have.

Well the shimano is nice yes nice ( To nice ) nice smooth shifts quiet & effort less (easyer to change up 2 gears when you only wanted 1 ) & if it was being judged by non MTB riders there is no way IMO that they would choose the Sram over Shimano.

Now the Sram IMO, this is bike craft at its best,It feels more clunky ( in a good way ) you know you have changed gear ( It seems harder to change 2 gears by mistake )

If I was building a comfit bike for around town with flat bars I would go shimano for sure but on MTB Sram just suits my riding more,I like the ruff.

For me shimano is like driving fast throw a twisty road with an auto trans & sram is like using a stick shift.
