New question here. Spot 29er ???

Anyone have a Spot 29er SS or geared? Looking for info, pics, review, buy another one? etc. As you're probably aware their website is currently under construction (and has been forever) and is of no use whatsoever. I also cross posted on SS forum. Thanks in advance.

Saw one at Interbike, no chance to ride it though

Give them a call, they are good friendly guys. I rode a 26" version of their bike. Very nice bike, plenty stiff. The front end was nice and short with a tall-ish headtube, I like that sort of thing. There craftsmanship is great.

Cyclenaut on the dirtragmag.com forums has one. Give her a shout over there. She's on pretty much daily.

Do a search on this forum. I, along with others, have posted Spot info.

    Further explanation of my question...

I already own two Spots - both SS - one 26" MTB and a 700c cross rig. I'm real happy with them. I'm considering a 29'er MTB. I thought I might replace the 26" SS with a 29" SS or have them build me a 29" geared bike to replace my Blur (I'm not a FS fan at all). I know I've seen pics on here before, but would like some feedback on the ride etc.

Here's one post that was out there where I put up some frame specs.

    http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=20400

I run it with a KM fork, avid disc, Spot/Alex wheels, Nano's, 180mm RaceFaces, and so on. Maybe a little heavy in the grand scheme of things but fun. I have to admit I haven't ridden it as much lately since I bought my Asylum.

    spot 29er

I have been riding a Spot SS 29er (17") since 6/04. I love the the frame. It rides great and handles well. I'm running the kelly fork on there (non corrected) and that seems to quicken the steering a bit (which I like). Everything about this frame is great except tire clearance. Everything seems to fit but not much room if I try to use the front 1/2 of the drop outs.

I ended up ordering a new Waltworks to get an EBB (based all the specs on the Spot) So sadly the Spot will be passing on. If it were EBB I'd keep it forever.

Unless you're really set on disc brakes (EBB) you can't go wrong with the Spot Frame. It rocks and the service at Spot is spectacular!!!! Michael really went above and beyond to deliver this frame to me on a tight time schedule.
