The Bandit has 17.4" stays for days

or with 120mm being the new short travel is 17.4" the new short stays?

    Salsa Spearfish 2014. 80mm travel - that's short. 17.2 CS - pretty good for a 29er. 69.3 HTA - slacker than I'm used to.

Color me interested. I like the Kona too though.

I'm sure you know this, but for those that don't, its 100mm travel front, 80mm rear.

    Hey, you're right. Good find
They have very similar geo numbers. But are Whyte bikes designed to run very short stems? I would have to change the stock 70-mm stem to 50 mm to fit on the small. I like that the Kona has been designed to run a super short 40-mm stem (the medium would be perfect for me).
And not to mention that Whyte bikes are practically non-existent where I'm from. There are several Kona dealers nearby though.

    Haha!
With the popularity of 150-160-mm travel "enduro" bikes, yes, I would consider 120 mm travel as short
