    Scott Spark for trail riding?

Anybody riding one of the newer Scott Spark's? Looking at a bike which is very capable on most trails and good enough for the long haul races. I'd like it to be more capable on the trail stuff as I don't care for race times.

I rode the 2019 Giant Trance 2 and it just seemed a little too slack...

Can pick the 950 2019 model up for about 1800usd:

I haven't ridden one, but how big are you? My only worry for trail riding would be the Fox 32 if you're a big guy. I'm not sure the price jump, but the 940 comes with the Fox 34 and for trail riding you might appreciate the stiffness on the rougher side of trail riding if you're a bigger guy.

Well I probably wouldn't worry too much then. I haven't ridden it, but on paper it seems like it is a bike that fits your intended purpose well.

    Scott Spark for trail riding?

Iím the same height and weight and Iíve had both a Fox 32 and 34 and I found the 32 too noodly for my liking. They were 120mm and 130mm respectively.

    Hell yeah!

I don't ride a Spark but I do ride a 2018 Specialized Epic with a dropper and a Fox 34/120mm with no issues. Handles pretty much anything XC/Trail.

I've ridden the Spark 29ers and reckon they're an excellent all-round trail bike (at the lighter end of the "trail" spectrum). They pedal well, descend well and handle well. TwinLoc suspension system works really well too.

They're seriously underrated IMHO, as you just don't hear much about them.

I'd agree to go for the Fox 34 if budget will get you there.
