Santa came early, ate the cookies and left the Milk...

    Milk Money that is!

New 4.0 version. Hoping to get it built and dirty by tomorrow!

    Devin pulls out another masterpiece.

Sorry for the crappy iphone pic. I'll get some better ones up tomorrow when it's built.

Even blurry that frame looks good! I am expecting one in another 6 weeks or so. Still have time to get some details down so I gotta ask, what color is that and tell me about those graphics. Oh, and open that digital camera under your tree early and take some more pics!

The color is an anodized black and the graphics are polished into the frame before it is anodized. I think that is how he does it.

Devin said he is currently offering this color with the 4.0 version of both the Milk Money and the Leviathan.

Just got a Milk Money myself. Great bike. I'm looking forward to your review of the 4.0 vs. 3.0.

    more pics and ride report

Sorry about that! Here are some more pics along with a brief report comparing it to the V3.0 after about 3 rides.

You have all probably read about, heard about, or know about how fun MilkMoney 3.0 is. This bike is even more fun! Shocker, right The extra inch of travel lets you climb easier through chunky rock gardens and descend through them even faster. It rides just what I was wishing for after I started looking for way to get an extra inch of travel out of my 3.0. Devin made my wishes come true!

I am still trying to get the fit and suspension dialed in, but so far so good. I may have PUSH do their work on the XX and RP23, or I might switch the RP23 out for one of the pre PUSHed Monarch's and might put my Reba U-Turn on there since 120 full time seems a bit much in certain climbing scenarios. We'll see.

I have noticed that the rear end tracks much better when climbing and does not get deflected as much the 3.0 did in similar situations. Same goes for descending. You can feel the additional travel all around, which is perfect.

I could not tell much difference, if any, in the suspension bob when out of the saddle. Both the 3.0 and 4.0 seem about the same in that regard. There is some bob, but that is to be expected. If you are averse to bob, you should be on a hardtail, right.

All in all the bike is awesome and if you like your 3.0 and always wanted to same ride but with more travel. This is your bike.

    Here's the current build:
    Frame - Large MilkMoney 4.0
    Brakes: Elixer CR 185F, 160R
    Fork: 120 Reba XX w/Maxle
    Crank: Shimano XT
Wheels: DT Swiss 240's, with Arch front, Flow rear,
Front tire - Weirwolf 2.55, Rear tire - Ikon - both tubed
Rear Shock: Fox RP23w boost valve
    H-Bars - Groovey Luv's
    Post - Thomson Masterpiece
    Stem - Thomson
    saddle - gobi

    approx - 26-27lbs

Ideally I'd like to get it down to 24lbs after some component changes in mind

    Sweet looking rig.

I love what the Monarch did for mine. Much nice platform feel, and control.

Nice bike. Any idea if the Milk Money 3.0 can be converted to 4.0? It looks like just different seat stays and rockers.

No can do. I asked Devin the same thing before before he redisgined the frame a bit to make a 4in version.

He had to move the shock mount a little higher and then use new new rockers and seat stays. My understanding is that he uses the same rocker and seat stays that he uses for the Lev 4.0.

Jeez! Can somebody with some photography skills go over to ccomacc's house and get some decent shots of that bike?

Just kidding...that bike is very sweet. Please don't put drop bars on it.

Thanks for the review and pics. I purchased a slightly used MM3.0 SS with the intention of converting it to IGH. I'm loving the bike as is, but still want to build up a FS tensionerless IGH bike. The MM4.0 might just be the ticket.

Thanks for removing the white bottle cage!

I'm not much of a lustful guy. I'm generally happy with what I have.

I *WANT* one of those bikes though.

Is the 4.0 geometry about the same as the 3.0 or did Devin make it a little slacker?

Have you switched to the U-turn? How are you liking it?

Same geo as the 3.0, and I have not put the u-turn on, let alone ride it. Colorado mountains have been getting a ton of snow and tis the season to breakout the snowboard!

Bummer! You need to ship it to me in Texas. I'll give it a good work over and have it all dialed in for you this Summer!

    Enjoy the board!
