    Salsa Vaya Frameset

I know it's not a true 29er, but this forum honest seems to have the most knowledgeable people in it....

A friend at work wants to build up a Vaya from the frameset (he wants 105 and nice wheels). From what I can tell, Salsa is out of stock at the moment.

Does anyone know of a shop with a 57cm frameset (not full bike), in either color, in stock?

Alternately, does anyone know when the next expected shipment is expected on the slow boat from China?

I'd try Milltown Cycles in MN first.

Second, buy a Vaya 3 complete and strip/sell what he doesn't want? QBP shows 2 of them in stock in 57cm.

I just got one and had to do a strip and sell. Pain in the butt but my new bike is a beautiful monstercrosser. New ones aren't due for quite a while I believe.

You can also try Angry Catfish in MN. They do have a lot of completes on the walls but may have some framesets.

Cyclova XC in WI might have a few also.

Start checking around with dealers to see if you can track one down - the Vaya frames were pretty much in "sold out" or "no expected availability" since December or so. We just sold our last 57cm frame a week ago - and the last Vaya2 57cm went on Wednesday. And if it doesn't have to be new, sounds like there are a couple of options in this thread! The "buy a Vaya3 and strip it/sell parts" may not be a bad idea either. That way he has a set of disc wheels to start with, brakes, bar/stem/post and a few specific parts that he'd need to get anyway as the 105 line doesn't include these items... The Charcoal looks nice too, but lots of people like the Orange. Good luck and sounds like a fun project.
