S-works epic hardtail - sizing support

    Hey guys,

as my canyon lux has gone I found my love to mountain biking again and want to buy a new specialized epic hardtail. I am not so sure which size to take and would be very thankful if you could support with your experience.

i am 1,80 m tall and my inside leg is 56 cm. I have found a very old sizing guide from specialized saying that I am between m and l frame.

i did a test drive and the M frame is a bit short - so would need a slightly longer stem. L felt good but from a gut feeling I am not a L frame guy with my size.
At pin Ike I have read that the frame is build to be used with shorter stem.

    what do you think?

thanks a lot for your help

I think you need to get properly fit and then make a decision. It's too hard to do over the Internet. Often you can tune up or down a bit in sizing with stem and seat post, but fit is so important I would suggest having a good shop take a close look at you on both sizes.
