    Roval SL or Crest 29ers

Looking for some lightweight wheels for XC riding and racing.

The carbon rimmed Roval SL's cost about twice American Classic hubs with Crest 29er rims. But are they worth it?

Slightly lighter, probably stiffer.....but more $$$!

    No probably about the stiffness.

Carbon rims are markedly stiffer than their aluminum counterparts.

Crests, they have the best tubeless system, EVER! and I think they're fairly strong cause of the width

Unless you are flexing the Crests then I don't see any reason to pay much more for the Rovals. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I always thought wheel stiffness was more about the spokes than the actual rim, although the rim does need to be a certain minimum strength and able to handle the required spoke tensions.
