    rising rate/ falling rate?

Does Shimano even make that line any more?

I'm asking because I'm building up a frame and am stuck without a local supplier so I need compatible parts.

    Thanks in advance

Rapidrise (high normal) vs Low normal?

I think they are strictly low normal now, that is the derailleur defaults to the smallest cog when tension is released. They used high normal for the dual control levers which have also been discontinued.

I would be looking for old stock of High Normal or just get the low normal stuff and reset your brain to push to easier gears vs. push to harder gears.
