    Rim fixable?

Hey guys. Riding my new bike I noticed that the rim was bent near the valve stem. Looks like a rock hit it or something. Rim fixable?-20190902_192402.jpgThey are DTSWISS M1900 30mm rims. I just put new Stans sealant in it and it seems to be holding air now after a quick ride, but do you think this will be an issue? Should i try to bend it back?

Shouldn't be an issue, mine look a lot worse. I probably wouldn't mess with it, sometimes when you bend aluminum back it just weakens it more.

It looks like a rim strike, I don't know what you were running but you might want to up your psi some.

Last time I messed with something like this, the rim cracked around the circumference of the rim. Mine was way worse, but it wasn't cracked until I started trying to bend it back.

Another option would be to install tire inserts. tons of these on the market ranging from lightweight huck norris to cushcore which can handle a ton of abuse. I have huck norris in the rear rim of my hardtail and it's definitely doing its job.

If itís holding air there is no reason to mess with it!

It won't be an issue. Long as it's true and holding air, and no through-rim cracks, you are good!

Yep. Looks rideable to me too. I've sometimes straightened out a rim dinged like that, but only when it was worse than what yours looks like.
    Do the math.
