Rig 29er ss convert to 1x9 hard or easy?

I have a 2011 Trek Rig 29er and I have decided the single speed is not for me right now.I would like to convert it to a 1x9. Is this a fairly simple conversion? Anyone have suggestions? Thanks,

Nothing to it - Just remember some sort of chain device..
I run a MRP Lopes and a Straitline silent guide on my bikes - I'm very happy with both..

I would also start with a 32T chainring(singlespeed) up front..

Second the chain retainer device up front.

If you have the necessary rd hanger for that frame, simply add a rd, cassette, shifter, and cable and housing. I've run full length housings on the bikes I've converted because that's my preference. Not necessary as that frame has braze-ons for the the segmented housings.

Not sure about the 2011 but I have a 2010 Rig and it has an SS hub. To go geared you may need to purchase a new rear wheel.
