    Pricing structure

I took note of the Gary Fisher X-Caliber with a retail price of $1049, which really got the wheels turning. I went to my LBS in hopes of getting a great deal on just a frame, for which I was quoted $650 So the fork and all the drive train is only worth $399

Totally normal. Complete bikes always cost less than buying the frame and parts separately.
