Brazing practice, was keeping it interesting by trying to make some "jones" like bars. My brazes suck, but if you don't succeed at first, try, try again.

    Hey Fred,
That picture was from Arcadia. A group of us from RI had plans to head up to the FOMBA Turkey Burner in NH this morning. Needless to say that trip was canceled. The weather looks great for the weekend though

    Hi Mello,

This was taken on the new trail that starts from from Matteson Plain Road and spits you out onto "Larry's showroom". It runs adjacent the yellow dot just northeast of Ehuntee. Nice to see another follow Rhode Islander on the boards!

Top of the ridge on the east (I think) side of the canyon right before decending to the switchbacks. The location is circled in white on the map below.

I started early (in the chilly air) and was by myself for the first hour. The return trip was a different story. It was like there was a freight train coming in the opposite direction. Lots of people out this time of year.

    Cheers!

I was the engine in that train, on the white jabberwockey. I said "nice bike" as I went by.

Not much riding this week... weather has SUCKED...

I did put drops back on my commuter along with some well-deserved new bartape.

Plus a pic of my riding buddy...

P.S. - please excuse the flats on the commuter... i have them on for the ride to the football game tomorrow... riding shoes are not comfy for 2 or 3 hours of standing on aluminum bleachers.

That is right. Brazing is mostly practice. The more you do the better you get.

I do remember you. I was cresting one of the small hills as you all were climbing the opposite direction. I had meant to return the compliment (I really like those Jabberwocky's and they're a bit rare around here) but my reactions were too slow.

Perhaps I'll see you out there again.

That's some great riding, I used to do a couple XC races down there every year.(Reaper's Revenge) That's funny we had planned on going to the "Turkey Burner" @ FOMBA but way to wet..You ride there often? Do you know that steep log roller? My 6yr old son rode down that last yr when he was 5, I know grown men that won't ride that.. ....CF.

Yep. There is some snow in shaded areas on the way up, but runners/hikers/equestrians have worn down a path in the snow. Dry Fork/CT/Gudys is pretty much bone dry. Lower CT at Junction Trailhead has snow in the ice box canyon, but everything beyond that is excellent. All of Log Chutes is dry too.

Heres hoping the wetness today won't be too bad.

    Cameraphone Special:

My Black Friday involved 1.8 miles of riding followed by some hiking...

Mr.138 finished out the trail (Bald Scrappy @ Syllamo), and I hiked in a little to get a shot of him coming down the trail:

After lunch, we went back & hiked the White River Bluff Trail:

Since I am still awaiting my MCR to arrive in the mail, I am down to one bike. Better than not riding at all. This was the end of the road for my ride.

We get up to FOMBA a few times of year.....some awesome riding there. That's fantastic that your son did that roller when he was 5! It took a guy that we ride with a solid 10min to work up the nerve to shoot down it.
