Orbea Occam with Fox 36 160 ! oh yeah!

Shout out to Wes Hayslip at Velorangatun for an awesome bike!

Occam with XT build and Fox 160. Running a Wolf 32t oval chainring and waiting on my carbon Industry Nine Wheels. Bike climbs great, corners great and the 160 up front is so nice for rock singletrack.

I was seriously thinking about a Ripmo but after talking with my buddy Wes I decided to demo out the Occam. I thought it was a great bike, I was pleasantly surprised at how well it handled and just did everything great but I thought it could use more fork.

8 years on my Turner Sultan.. this "moden" geometry took sometime to get my head around.

    It works

That's Awesome!! Good thing you were open minded to atleast try something other than what you were focused on (Ibis).

I was also considering a Pivot Switchblade
I used to own a high end shop and am a huge believer in riding everything and buying the one that puts a big grin on your face and just feels right.

Yes me too after learning the hard way a couple times!! Components can be changed but fit and feel is a lot harder to change if it can be at all.

I think the Occam is an amazing bike and you'll love it. From what I've read, a bit more sporty and nimble than the Ripmo and Switchblade.

What made you choose the Occam over the Rallon? The Rallon spec include a 160/170 option.

    yes sir.. good guy
I have known him for 20 years, when I used to own a shop he was our team captain.
Dude is a beast, won a 24 solo race, 170 miles in 100 degree weather back in the day!

Been quite a while since we did this but still very proud of it.
