Nice. 4.18lbs for the Niner frame, fork and headset. Not bad.

Note that it also includes the seat collar and the axle designed to protect the fork during shipping (plus the fork is uncut), but it does not include the inserts that take regular bb cups.

It's not as light as I imagine...
Like 1300/1400gr? Not bad, but not really LIGHT, it's a normal carbon frame weight....

i'm figuring about 1200g, so about 2.7 for a med, pretty good.
4.2lb is 1900g, fork is about 600g, plus headset.

That Tracer 29 is the original prototype. Certainly not a production bike. It has the welded on brace at the seat tube, not the monocoque construction like all Tracers. Although not the final version, the one pictured on the website is a later version. The final production Tracer 29 should have removable dropouts.

G3 Style, or like the <2009 delirium t's where you can buy different drops for QR or 12x150? I'm liking this bike more and more, especially if you have rear axle optionality...

I'm not sure exactly. This is what Jeff Steber said on his original post showing the bike:

"There is still one more mod that didn't make it on the show bike and that is a medium duty replaceable drop out that will allow different rear axle options including the new 142 X 12, QR, Maxle, standard & 135x 12."

This will probably be my first full suspension 29" bike so I've kept a close watch on what's happening.

Choice of drop outs and Maxle type axles in 10 and 12mm is available now on Niner RIPs and WFO's. I'm looking forward more to seeing the weight of the new Jets, due in late next month or early March.

So my second question... how the heck do they have a working Air 9 carbon in the shop? I've been told by my psuedo-LBS, who's one of the biggest Niner dealers in the country, the first Mediums aren't due in till last two weeks of April, then the other sizes after that. What's the deal, did Niner underpromise and over deliver on the timing? If so I'm tickled to bits...

I wouldn't get too excited, well-connected shops get special prototypes, early shipments, etc for publicity and other reasons. Just consider the fact that the other frame pictured here is definitely a pre-production prototype, so maybe the Niner is one of their early photoshoot bikes as well

Will it accept pressfit BB30 without any adapters?

These are final production prototypes being sent to our test team to check for final fit and finish. 1st production is still due first part of April.

So far final production frames are under 3lbs with BB insert and rear der hanger installed, no headset or seat collar.

My understanding is that the naked frame is made with the largest possible hole for any of the intended applications... that wouldn't be a bb30 crank but a niner ebb. different styles of cranks will all require adapters.

First digit was a 2, does that make it over 20? Heck no!
I can get my Mama below that.
