    new WTB tire : Wolverine

    Hello guys,

I' msorry for the picture i posted on the new weirwolf. It was NOT a 29er, just a 26 looking really big.

I had the occasion to chat with WTB (european importator) at eurobike, and it told me that this new weirwolf was not supposed to appear in 29".

And there is even more, the old weirwolf LT is not on the catalog any more !

To compensate for all theses bas news, i have one good : There is a new thread, the Wolverine. It's a 54/52 650g. Same design as in 26.

So, are we to hear that the WW LT 2.55 is no more? This is bad news! I better get another set coming Tuesday!

The Wolverine was hinted at during Sea Otter, and with 650B examples floating about, it was pretty much a sure thing WTB would be bringing it out in 29"er sizes too. This and the Kodiak were the two tires I knew were being introduced.

Good, otherwise I'll have to stock up on a few.

I like the new tread, but the loss of a really big casing is not good. The WW LT lists out at 58/55 and this new tire will only be 54/52.

Seems like a step backward. I would have preferred that the first misunderstanding was actually the truth, although that tire would push above 1000 grams easily! (A full tread Weir Wolf, that is)

Saw these yesterday. Not a bad looking tire. Not quite the volume of the ww2.55, but more agressive sidlugs. Similar knob spacing, generally small and close knit.
I sell bikes here. Check out the Blog here. Facebook.

The WW LT is a great rear tire. Its my favorite rear SS tire.

Maybe if we make enough noise WTB won't D/C it.

Anybody see a production Wolverine 2.2 in the flesh? On bike29.com blog they say it looks as big as the Weirwolf, is this true? Anybody have any measurements on the Flow or Gordo? Shiggy?
