Congrats! Nice weight and it definitely looks badass!

EDIT- And cool that you weighed it right away with a good description.

Not a Specialized fan, but that is pretty damn sweet.

Gonna have to rethink my next ride. ;-)

A cousin was interested in the new evo epic.
I'm not a fan of the proprietary rear shock design...otherwise, a sweet XC evolution.

Congrats. I donít see to much talk of the specialized epic these days. Great weight and great looking buy damn that bike is so insanely expensive.

To many the Epic is not cool for 3 reasons.

    1) Specialized is the "evil big S".
    2) "XC bikes suck and are for wimps" mantra from some
    3) "If it only did NOT have a brain" - from those who hate it or just think they hate it.

I have a 2018 Epic and frankly I love it and while it is recognized in the racer community it really makes fine trail/every day bike as well. Many people say XC bikes are to dangerous and twitchy, but I think modern XC bikes are pretty darn good. 69.5 deg HA with 100mm fork or 68.5 with a 120 is pretty trail worthy to me. Gone are the 71 deg HA of XC racers of the past. Pricing for S-works models are sky high, but there are more reasonably priced intermediate builds.

monaco_m1 - Curious if you sized up? It wasn't too long ago that 90mm stems seemed crazy short, this thing ships with a 75mm stem. Did you size up or get the same that you had?

Funny enough I sold this a few months later and got the new epic with the AXYS... loves the EVO but the AXYS is a Rocket. 2lbs lighter as well- even with adding a short dropper post

But no I didnít change the stem. My EVO stem looked longer than my AXYS. Iím 6í and the cockpit fits like a glove. Didnít change anything but the grips.

Great bike, what fork are you running? Does it have a remote lock out?
