    I hope you're planning on a 1.5 tapered steerer, because at that axle-to-crown just beefing up the stanchions isn't going to keep the thing from flexing fore-aft. It's either that or you use an insanely thick and heavy steerer as on my marzocchi 66, but even still you'd get a stiffer interface (with less weight comparatively) with a 1.5.
