    My Canzo broke......

While washing my bike after today's ride I noticed something that wouldn't quite wash off.......

Put a call out to https://www.airbomb.com/ where I bought it in July 2009.... The guy on the phone seemed cool, and told me to email them with pics....

I'm supposed to hear something within 24 hours... If not, I will be calling back.....

    This is my only bike............

Maybe you may need to deal directly with VooDoo Cycles.

do you have the original purchase receipt?
Did you get confirmation with Voodoo BEFORE you slathered the interweb with these pictures?

Hollywood, if you have your receipt you might want to call or email Voodoo direct. They will want a copy of the receipt, the serial number, frame size, pictures of the break and a picture of the entire frame.

My '07 Canzo (broken chain stay) is out of warranty because I'm not the original purchaser but Voodoo still offered to help me out a little. They haven't followed through yet but I'm sure they will. Voodoo doesn't owe me anything so I'll be grateful for any help they offer.

It's been a really fun bike for the short time I got to ride it

They have a horrible rep, just read the shop reviews here on MTBR. It is hard enough getting them to help you are at the shop. If you want a quick turn around, take others advice and deal with Voodoo directly and not have Beyond Bikes be the middle man which will slow down getting your new frame.

    Yes... I have the receipt....

    Thanks for the help Duztitall.....

AFA the guy with the "pictures slathering the internet" comment, I simply stated a fact...

Never did I say one negative thing about Voodoo or this bike... In fact, I expect that it will be replaced and I look forward to riding another....

Thanks again to those who offered help and suggestions..........

Please let us know how Voodoo responds. That would help all of us and put a positive spin on this thread.
I don't see anything wrong with posting, that is what mtbr is for !!! but I was also looking at the bike. (Geez what a great price for a 100mm 7000 series 29er frame) and am interested on how they respond. But I agree with talking to them directly.

I agree with ghawk. Hollywood never said anything bad about Voodoo in fact we know he loves the frame. I also look forward to riding my replacement Canzo just like slocause is riding his. As for frame breakage, same old story. Voodoo has sold many, many of these frames and every manufacturer has frames that break.

You will be well taken care of

Check out the link to slocaus's post below. His broke in what appears to be pretty close to the same spot.

That's kind of a weak point for the flat rocker frame designs. There are plenty of Turner and Ellsworth frames that broke in that area until the seat tubes were beefed up. The big question is what the mfr. does for you when you give them the bad news. I'm sure Voodoo will do the right thing.

    My reply from Voodoo...........

    HI Chris,

Sorry you have to deal with this so soon! We can definitely help. I have the photos, but I will need the serial number and a copy of your receipt as well. If you can send those soon I will forward everything to our distributor and get you a new frame.

    Talk to you soon,

    John

    Awesome Service

My replacement frame is on the brown truck. Voodoo and BTI-USA went WAY out of their way to help me. Joe Murray owed me nothing since my frame was not even under warranty.

Voodoo rocks. Thanks to Joe Murray, John Benson at Voodoo and Preston at BTI

My '07 Canzo hit the trails again today thanks to slocaus My new black frame is still in the Voodoo box for now. I'll build it up the first day it rains here in San Diego if I can hold out that long.

I'll post up some pictures of both soon.

Make sure you include close ups of the stays.

Ride it and enjoy. These are great bikes at a price that allows more of us to ride 29er dual suspension. In this mass produced world, some things are going to fail, no way around it, and a good company will stand behind their product. Voodoo has proven that, even for those who are not the original purchaser.
    Kudos again to Voodoo.

Twelve plus miles up to the right, seven plus miles down to the left; 5000 feet gained and lost, and tons of these along the way

I know, not much of the bike, but it has me out there.
