Monocog 29 vs Monocog 29 Flight sizing (crosspost from SS forum)

I have a 17" MC29 with a Salsa fork. A new set of wheels has me thinking about about an upgrade to the Flight. Somehow it just seems easier to buy a new bike than to fuss with the brakes every time I change my rear cog.

I seem to recall a thread about how the geometry differences between the regular MC29 and the Flight might affect one's choice in frame size. Of course now that I'm interested in such things, I can't locate the thread.

Anyone have any experience with both frames?

I have both. The flight fits a little smaller but not much and has a slacker head tube. I have both 19" frames. If you're concerned about fiddling with the brakes every time you change out a cog, setting the sliders on the Flight is even more of a chore. That's why I will probably never get another frame with sliders again. I prefer the track fork personally. My Jabberwocky has been a piece of cake to change out.

I've changed cogs on my regular cog and have never had to mess with the disk calipers.
