Looking for my next bike. Need some suggestions.

I'm looking for my next bike and I was hoping you guys could give me some suggestions.
I'd like a mid to long travel (140 to 160mm) alloy 29er with progressive geometry (but not a crazy long reach). I'd like it to pedal well and still be able to perform of the downhills. To top it off I'd like it to be around $3000 or less. Any suggestions?

Thing with a lot of these longer bikes (Pole, GG Smash, etc.) is they actually are being found to pedal pretty well, at least as good as most of the bikes on the market and in some cases better. Have ridden both a Medium GG Smash and XM GG Smash and both climbed great, handled switchbacks well and descended like raped apes...

But for the $3k price tag you are going to have to cut a few corners or at least wait in line for a while (e.g. YT Jeffsy).

Be careful what you ask for. You have a huge number of available bikes that fit that your description.

Banshee- they pedal really well, don't do carbon, and Jensen had quite a few under 3k not long ago.
