How do you pronounce 29er?
I know it is a stupid question. It may not even have an answer.
So is it pronounced twentyniner or two niner?
Also what do you refer a regular 26 bike? Do you say 26er?
Sorry for the noob/unimportant questions.

Twenty nine errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I think that it may be a regional thing .

Twentyniner, as does everybody I know.
The 26" wheel bikes are the twenty-six.

I pronounce it "dreamy"...
Seriously though, I've heard people say it "two-niner", "two-nine" AND "twenty-niner". Pick one that suits you and if someone says something, challenge him to a race

Interesting topic. I used to only say two-niner, but I thought that sounded odd because nobody says two-sixer, so I got in the habit of saying twenty-niner. Then I decided that most customers probably don't have a clue what that means, so now, when talking to customers that don't know, I actually say "twenty-nine inch wheeled bike" the first time then twenty-nine and twenty-six after that.
Worked at Trek/Fisher dealer 2008-2013. Only a little biased.

I've always called them twenty niner.
A lot of people around here tend to call them 'niners' which I have to then ask for clarification if they mean Niner brand bikes or twenty-niners.
It's the same for many of the alt-bars that came out. Everybody called them 'mary' bars even the On-One Mary Bar was just one of many these types of mtb bars.

Twenty Nine Incher as I and others that were at ground zero when the "tire" came out back in the the spring of 99' and really know the score do and always will. All of you that got brainwashed by the GF/Trek marketing machine can call them whatever you want but 29ers are sailboats. Go to 29er.com.

OP: I think germans say "twenty eight", but around these parts, "twenty niner" ... although some prefer to say "two-niner" ... also, "fat tire seven hundeds" is getting used more often.

I'm liking "tooty-niner" right now.
Really, I go with "twenty-niner". However, I'm not sure I'd even notice if someone I was talking to said "two-niner" instead.

But you're from Arkansas where monosyllabic words are more the norm to make up for the drawl on all of the vowels.
