Florida, Quirings and Carry on luggage and bike parts

I'm flying down to FL tomorrow for the weekend visiting my folks and taking a ride on a borrowed 29" geared Quiring (sweet).

    a) I'm geeked to ride the Q.
    b) I'm geeked to get out of the cold in Chicago. (Although today was nice)

    The big question...
Will I get hassled by TSA for any of the following items:
    mini-tool
    eggbeater pedals
    mini pump

mini tool is not allowed in carry-on IIRC

    I would check them all.

I have flown with all of those in my carry on except the mini-pump. No problems at DEN, GEG, SEA, BOI, SFO, SJC, BDL, BOS, ATL or ARN (Stockholm, Sweden).

Im could swear I saw a sign in RDU last week that said no tools in carryon bags? It is possible that there could have been more to the sign though.

Id just check the TSA's website and go from there. It seems kind of dumb that any of those wouldnt be allowed...

I flew from Seattle to Nashville once with a set of full crampons in my carry on. And they say you canít take a mini tool or a full-size tube of toothpaste?

I've flown with pedals, shoes and helmet a number of times recently in carry on bags. They've only opened the bag once to look at the pedals and let me through without a hassle. The multi tool might be a problem though if it has longer screwdriver bits on it. If you are going to try it bring along a padded envelope and some stamps. If they try to confiscate it just throw it in the envelope and mail it to yourself before going through security.
