New question here. Dropper Post Length for a Trek X-Caliber 8?

Yup, I'm lazy. Hoping someone has already measured and fitted a dropper post on a 2019 Trek X-caliber 8 bike. What stack height (not drop length) are people using? According to Trek's website the seat tube length is 470mm (47.0cm) on a 19.5 in. frame. the seat tube diameter is 31.6. Thanks.

This depends on you, your bike frame/size, saddle, and the specific dropper in question. Basically, at full extension you want a post that will put your saddle at your optimal pedaling height at full extension, and no more. Two things will prevent the post from going low enough at full extension, the stanchion collar hitting the seat post clamp or the bottom end of the post hitting a bend or something else in the seat tube.
    Do the math.
