    Disc rotor question...

Just wondering if I will have any problems using other brand (Hayes) 160 rotors on a second set of wheels to be used with my Avid brakes. My LBS only has 1 Avid in stock and it is $10 more than the Hayes rotors. They have a bunch of Hayes.

Just wondering if they are the same thickness or might cause weird pad wear.

    Thanks,Dan

    No problem.
You might have to play with the caliper alignment again but it will work.
Check what size your Avid rotor was, 160 or 165.
Your pads won't know what thickness your rotor is...and I'm not telling.

    Don't like it....

I tried the second set and the Hayes rotors are thicker. To be used alone would be fine.but to do quick swaps means adjusting the Avids 3 clicks every time.Since I want to use these for cross also,I want them to be indentical.

I measured the thickness with my digital micrometer.Hayes= 1.753mm. Avid 1.837mm.
I 'll also have to shim all 3 wheelsets to the same position, but that should not be a problem.
