Cannondale Trail SL 2 vs. Trail SL 4

I am looking to purchase my first 29er. The two bikes I am looking at are the Cannondale SL 29er 2($900) and the SL 4 ($700). I am just looking for a good bike and not too concerned about components. I test rode both and they both feel great. Is it worth it too splurge the extra $200 bucks and upgrade to the SL 2?

One other option I have is the trek Cobia for $900. The guy at the shop recommended the Cannondale SL 2.

Cobia and SL2 are about equal. I would favor the Cobia fork but the SL2 brakes. The top tube is longer on the Cobia, but the standover is lower.

You should at least ride both in the parking lot. One may feel better than the other. Both are good entry level choices.
