Cannondale Flash Carbon 3 vs. Flash 1

Does anyone have experience with either bike. Is it worth the $ to upgrade to the carbon?

My LBS quoted $1,999 for Flash 1 alum and $2,699 for Flash 3 carbon.

There's a thread in the Cannondale sub forum with a guy that owned and reviewed both bikes. I'm too lazy to look for it but it's in there somewhere.
I would want the carbon frame.

Why would you want the carbon frame?

Because it's lighter and stiffer (in a good way).

Makes sense. I can't speak for the original poster and my bad for semi-hijacking. To me, going from the Flash 1 alloy to Flash 3 carbon is $700 +/- with basically the same components besides the carbon frame. If I'm an active racer then maybe that makes sense, but I have heard/read that the difference between weights of these two models is minimal, less than a pound or so. $700 isn't worth a pound.

1850 for the Flash 1 seems like a pretty good deal to me. I'd jump on it. You still get that killer lefty that weighs barely over 3 pounds. Save the money by not buying the carbon and purchase some sweet wheels.
