30.9 to 27.2 Seatpost Spacer for Carbon 29'er?

Do they make a spacer for these sizes? I have a Tallboy carbon frame and I want to use my 27.2 carbon post, can I use a spacer for the 30.9 seatpost size? I think it's a 34.9mm seat collar size, if that helps. Is this advisable and if so where can I get a spacer?
    Thanks!

search google shopping for "seatpost shim 30.9" and a plethora of choices will appear

here's a nice one from Cane Creek...

as to whether or not shims are recommended for carbon, I have no clue but I wouldn't think it's ideal

I used a 30.9 to 27.2 spacer on a carbon post a few years back with zero issues (though in an aluminum frame). Recommend carbon friction paste for the shim/seatpost interface.

    Thanks!

I'll use the friction paste and check out the spacers!

    Should work no problem

I use a shim on my roadbike, carbon frame and carbon seatpost. I would recommend a plastic shim like this one from USE

    http://www.pricepoint.com/detail/129...n-Seatpost.htm

It is lighter than the aluminum ones and in my opinion, they seem less likely to cause any issues with the carbon.

    Definitely use the carbon paste.

The only caveat I'll ad is check out minimum post insertion on the frame. The Carbon Cannondale Rush I had needed a minimum post insertion around 4". The shim will need to be at least as long as the minimum insertion depth.
