As long as it is also at least 2" wide.

    You can use 26" tubes.

That would be a typical "hybrid" tube for a 700c rim with a tire that is probably 28-38mm in width. Typically, those tubes come in 28 x 1 1/2" or 28 x 1". What's the second measurement on the tube? 28 x __ ? If you can find one that says 28 x 1.9 - 2.2+ you'll be fine. Unless you are running narrower tires on your 29"er. What size tires are you running? If they are no more than 35mm in width (like a commuter tire or cross tire), you could use the narrower 28" tubes.

You can use 26" or 28" or 29" tube in the 29"er as long as they have enough width (1.9 - 2.3"). Here are some typical 29"er tubes.
