29er Hardtails that clear big 1x chainrings?

Looking to build up a monster cross flat bar gravel MTB rig. Anyone know any hardtail frames that would clear really big front rings, like a 40t? I know most XC race frame clear 36T and some will clear 38T now.

Can be carbon, alloy or steel

you might want to pursue some bikes that are marketed as "gravel" bikes. are you looking for something that will accommodate a suspension fork? what is the minimum of tire clearance you require?

at some point, tire width and chainstay length is going to limit chainring size. boost chainline spacing will help you get the chainring out wider but the frame has to be designed around that.

Iím fine with my 38t on my non boost XTC. Run an e13 cassette with a 9t for big time street fun. That gives you more top end than a 42/10

Or a modern boost frame that accepts a 36t with that cassette gets to to the same gearing as a 40/10

    My inspiration for the build:

At the end of the day, look at the steps and see how fast you really need to spin. The step from the 9t to the 10t is nice on the e13.
