    2019 Stumpjumper vs. RM Instinct

Is there someone with experience on the Stumpjumper 2019 as well as the Rocky Mountain Instinct? How do they compare? Cheers!

Iím also interested in this comparison. Rode the base model 29er Stumpjumper in non trail conditions. The bike felt nice and stiff, also felt nimble unlike some other 29ers Iíve ridden. Iím a small guy 5í6 and the stumpy was comfortable.

I owned both at the same time. Which do I still own? The Stumpy. I can take a stab at any specific questions you have.

Why did you keep the Stumpy over the Instinct? What was better in your opinon?

Mmmmm, I canít name a single thing the Rocky did better. I mean, itís a fine bike, looks nice; I did appreciate the multiple chip options and the fact you can hang a variety of shocks on it. Very flexible geo options.

But the Stumpy is just simply faster and more comfortable for me in all aspects of riding.

That said, if I hadnít already owned the Stumpy, I imagine I wouldíve been more happy with the Instinct.

I rode both at a bike demo this summer. Definitely preferred the Rocky over the Specialized. It was more comfortable to me.

I had the ability to test a Stumpy, Instinct, and a Fuel 8 on a small singletrack by my LBS. Iím switching from a beginner HT to a FS as Iím 40, the hard tails are starting to beat me up. Going in, I thought I was gonna get the Trek. It seems to be the more liked bike. I ended up with the 19 Stumpy. It fit me better. After putting miles on it I was able to to ride another Fuel at a local trail. Iím still glad I got what I did. However, I donít think you would dislike either of your choices.
