2019 Rocky Mtn Element Alloy50 or Specialized Epic Comp EVO

    Hello,

I'm considering either a 2019 Rocky Mtn Element Alloy 50 or Specialized Epic Comp EVO. Any thoughts/experiences from others with these bikes or similar models? Are there any 2019 models from other manufacturer's I should be looking at for comparison? The Scott Spark 930 seems to be fairly similar to these two as well. Just looking for pro's/cons from more experienced riders.

Ride the Epic (Regular or Evo) to see if you like the brain. Some love it some hate it. I have 2018 Epic and get more and more impressed without it works the more I ride it. I run mine full firm and it pedals with pretty much zero movement until I hit a bump and it opens. Other than the slight transition from closed to open it is pretty darn close to pedals like a HT, but is plush like suspension bike. Some people however don't like how it reacts to things. Only way to know is to try it and play around with the brain settings.

So far I'm Loving my new 2019 Rocky Mountain C50 Element, because of the weather I have had a few chances to ride it and start dialing in the suspension, but while working on the set up I was able to utterly smash some of my PR's at multiple trail systems. As for the Ride9 I have not even had the chance to start playing with it but if its anything like the rest of the bike it will be a fun adventure experimenting with the various setup options.

FWIW I have a 2018 Element C70 with over 1600mi on it and it has been a great mix of XC and trail bike. Winter/Spring I raced the full MBAA series in Arizona and over the summer I rode it slack with i30 rims in moab, fruita, grand junction, crested butte, and lake tahoe area. No issues riding the whole enchilada and hucking drops on LPS. The 34mm fork and frame design make it extremely stiff for a "xc" bike.
