    Swobo Mutineer Single Speed Build

Might as well put this here. Former recreational roadie that stopped bikes aroun 2014, and now building a single speed mtb for fun. Will see light trails and lots of stuff around town. Not really any big hills.

Goal is to be a budget bike. Frame was $234 and wheels + tires was $120. Thought about Avid BB7s, but Deore M6000 are relatively close to the same price. I also would prefer new brakes.

If you have any recommendations for parts, feel free to chime in.

    Bought this

    and these

Wheelset: Mavic XM119 with Continental Race Kings + tubes (Craigslist)

    Things I'll buy soon:

Quick release: HALO PORKIES QR WHEEL SKEWERS from Jenson or a steel rear QR and buy a front QR.

Brakeset (levers, calipers, and hose): SHIMANO DEORE BR-M6000 DISC BRAKE. Front 180mm and rear 160mm from Jenson

Rotors: undecided but leaning towards SHIMANO SM-RT56 6-BOLT ROTOR from Jenson.

Gears: undecided on which brand cog, but I want stainless steel. Will use in conjunction with Gear Clamp. If the Gear Clamp sucks, I'll just get spacers/conversion kit.

Seatpost: TBD;have to find out sizing then I'll get a cheap aluminum one.

Saddle: TBD; might steel have a WTB Speed V laying around somewhere

    Handlebars: TBD; probably cheap aluminum

Grips: TBD; need to see what looks good with the frame color

Pedals: TBD; currently leaning towards VP Components VP-Vice Pedals on Amazon for $34, but something tells me that may be too good to be true. I'll probably have to contact VP to determine if they are counterfeits.

Chain: some cheap SRAM that will work.

    Ordered/bought today:

Grips: SE Bikes Wing Grips in blue. Their website has a fairly accurate color; it's actually a little more of a powder blue.

Brakeset: Shimano Deore M6000 front and rear

Handlebars: Niner flat top alloy bars

KCNC blue headset spacers...need to see if they match the grips/bike. If they do, I'll order their SC10 seatpost clamp.

30T is what I'd get, even a 32T crank makes me sweat, tried it and it was bad---for me I'm only 5'6", the rear 20T is pretty standard

I've made some changes/upgrades and will post as soon as the fork is installed.

I've ditched the saddlebag, installed a PNW dropper post, bought some Velocity tubeless wheels (and tubeless tires), swapped the crank for a SRAM GX 1000, and have an X-Fusion Streat on the way.

oops, double posted an image and cant delete.

Nice, I wish I could find one of those bikes. This is my Swobo Accomplice road bike with some mods.
