    Hard Rock 96er

Here is my Specialized Hard Rock 96er. I used a Surly Karate Monkey for so that I could use my existing v-brakes. I'm sure the geometry is tweaked all over the place, but I really like the way it rides. It rolls over the rough stuff really well. The front wheel was stolen out of my daughters hybrid bike so I'm not sure it's going to hold up to a lot of abuse. The mod was done on very much of a budget, almost none to be exact. Used 29er wheels are hard to come by, especially just a front, so if anyone has something that would help me out PM me and give me the details. Thanks

It is kind of cool having the most unique bike at the trailhead.

    KHS Soft Tail 69er

Here's mine, on its shakedown cruise along the Dakota Ridge.

VooDoo fork, early 90s Trek road wheel with Bontrager 2.1 tire on front. The soft tail frame takes the harshness off of the rear end, balancing the rolling abilities of the two sizes of wheel. Rides great, steers fine (now that I have flipped the stem, in relation to how it appears here).
