    Mullet my Scout? Anyone?

I saw this video from Bike Magazine and it has me thinking, as I've always been on a 650b and I'm curious of a 29r. Maybe best of both worlds; they're certainly encouraged by the performance. My only question mark is the climbing ability, which isn't discussed. Sure, it's fun and fast on the downhill, but what about climbing? Anyway, it wouldn't be an expensive experiment. Thanks!

Thinking of building a mullet patrol for the wife in the near future. Id say go for it.

If possible I'd just buy the lower legs and air shaft for your existing fork

I did a pseudo mullet on my hardtail in which I put on a 27.5+ front tire and left the 27.5x2.25 on the rear. So front is 28.5" roughly and rear is still 27.5" exactly. Overall I'm happy with it but I think I would like a 29" front tire more since the plus tire is kind of heavy. I may do the mullet on my Commencal FS bike instead of my hardtail because since buying the FS bike, the hardtail has become a greenway and neighborhood bike. No need for a mullet on pavement and grass but I did ride the pseudo mullet on trails for about 6 months before buying the FS.

I ran my Knolly Endorphin as a mullet for a bit, 130/130 instead of 130/150. Borrowed the fork and wheel off my 29er hardtail.

It was pretty cool but not enough to make me go out and buy a new fork/wheel. If you can try it without making the investment, thatís what I would recommend.
