The benefits of 27.5 losing a bit of marketing steam...

Just new to biking and started with a 27.5 plus hardtail... more because i got a good deal on it, and i also got a 29er wheelset to swap (has it’s own casette). I do more xc type riding (vs downhill) and am
    5’7 with a 30 in inseam.

After getting a bit more experience under my belt (still pretty new and enjoying learning), i actually gave a 27.5 in size small a try. I figured it would suit my height better, and we have a bit of twisty woods trails, so narrow bars and the agility and acceleration of a 27.5 seemed to be a good fit.

Anyway, i see a movement away from the “old fashioned” skinny rubber 27.5 xc bike. Even Scott seems to have dropped it in favour of the 27.5 plus standard (which is great for fun riding, but not competition imho). To the point, i got a smoking deal on a set of dt swiss xrc 1250 spline wheels. 1/3 original price.

As a hobbiest, i am happy to ride a generation behind the cutting edge and reap the rewards. All fun to me, especially if i can save a few bucks and ride some high end stuff.

I'm with you on staying behind the cutting edge for a great riding bike at a reasonable price. Looks nice. Have fun.
