Can you post some pics showing the tire clearances in the front and back? Looks great!

I second that. Seat stay, chainstay, and seat tube clearance at full travel if possible. I'm searching for a XC/Endurance race rig.

Nice. I'd say there would be a few hitting the race circuits in stealth with racing ralphs.

That is a sweet looking bike. But that tire looks awfully tight in the chainstay. Do you have something to protect the carbon from tire rub?

is difficult, there is enough space ...

That Epic pics should be fake, my 2011 Epic S-Works doesn't clear 650b on the back

When the pics were still posted they sure looked real to me. He had a Racing Ralph in it, it was tight but definitely fit. I doubt it would fit any of the 2.3 tires, and maybe not the 2.1 Nevegal due to the tall side knobs. What tire are you trying to fit?

Are you sure? Is there any pic of a 2011-2012 Epic S Works with 650b on the rear?

I haven't tried any, because I have no space to fit a larger wheel than a 26er on the rear... A 27.5" or 650b with Neo moto or even with RR would definetely touch the arch of the rear carbon frame...

Do you have good clearance on your 2010 Epic? What about mud on the rear?

My Epic is alloy and it has a lot of room. This is with a Racing Ralph. I haven't had any problems with mud so far.

I just did a google image search, and I found the pic that used to be posted in this thread. It is below. It was said to be a 650b Racing Ralph. I see no reason to believe that they lied about this. You could PM dns76 if you want more information about the fitment.

Thanks ljsmith, your bike looks great with the 650b There's plenty of room because you have no arch on the top of the triangle.

The 2011 carbon frame pic might be true, but the problem isn't there but in the arch, where the 650b seems to have no room at all.

Anyway, I'll check it with a 650b wheel this week and let you all know

    Were you successful??

    Hi Hot Sauce,

were you successful in putting a 650b rear on the 2011 s works frame?
very tempted to do both upgrades as the 2011 sworks supposedly is still available at one of my LBS for half the price.

i've only seen 2 reported cases of people having their 2011 sworks 26" epics convereted to 650b
    yours would be the third

what was the clearance like in the rear?

I've heard rumor that the 2010 s-works will not fit a 650B due to rubbing the chainstay. Does anyone know if an aluminum chainstay will fit the s-works frame and seatstay...even if a little filing is needed?

    Hi guys

    Wanna confirm something:

We have in stock: 2011 sworks epic frame in medium and large.
this + a new 2013 Rock shox, will it work with 650b wheel set with say 2.2 volume tyres.
LJS, from our previous discussion I seem to remember yes...

Theres no 26" Epic for 2013 only 29er. Certainly the 29ers will fit 650b if you don't mind long chainstays and lots of pedal strikes!

No sorry, I sold the Epic and bought a SC Tallboy carbon...

I tested a 650b and found no much difference between 26" and 27.5", so I went for the 29er Tallboy.

Yes that should work. I would be concerned with the axle to crown of the Rock Shox Fork. The newer 650b forks are longer than 26" forks, so its going to slack out the head angle and raise the bottom bracket much more than if you just used a 26" fork.
