650b conversion frame. santa cruz superlight 26er or Titus Ftm alu 29er frame?

looking to get a frame and use 650b wheels. i cant seem to find affordable prices for FS frames so i want to do a conversion.

found a santa cruz superlight 3.3 2013 for about $625 shipped or a titus ftm 29er alu for about $600 shipped. both with a shock( fox ctd , Rockshox monarch Rt3)

which would be a better platform to start with and what fork travel is preffered for each frame?

i just emailed titus for geometry of the 29er frame.

if there are any other frames that are in that price range pleae post it up.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here's the Superlight/Juliana 650b conversion I built for my wife:

Thanks for the link. I have your thread up on all my computers at home and work! That thread is the reason I'm spending more money.

I just got a jamis dragon 650 about a month ago and I'm loving my new hobby. I like to tinker so figured I'll put a bike together.

I really like the Santa cruz but I see all this talk about headtube angle etc... So I'm not sure which would be better to start with; 26er or 29er frame?

I tried a medium batnam and my nuts are right on the top tube. But if I get a small it might be to cramped. And Santa cruz only has medium and larger for sale.

There is no such thing as a Titus FTM 29er.

Any 29er frame will be a pedal dragger with 650B wheels.

Check the standover and top tube measurements for the frame. Her XS Juliana is small. Really small. Smaller than the XS Giant Lust I had her sit on. She's 5 '1" and has no issues with either (even with a 120-130mm fork raising the top tube standover). In all honesty, a Small Juliana probably would've fit her just fine.

Oh yeah, don't 650b a FS 29er frame unless you like a really, really low BB and long chainstays.

You are right they are 26er. So that will make my decision easier.
They have A carbon version for $799 shipped.

So if I chose Superlight it is only a medium in stock. If I go with Titus they have both small and medium.

In regards to frame, which would you guys prefer, Titus ftm or Santa cruz Superlight?
I have a 120mm 650b fork that I got used so that will be the fork that I'll be using.

    Thanks

650B do not fit the Titus, aluminum or carbon.

    just a small update:

i just got my 3.3 frame today so i tried on my 650 wheel in the rear. as it stands it only has about 2-3mm before the blocks on the tires hit the front derailleur stops(or what ever they are called; on the seat post).

wheels are: wtb disc I19 650b
tires are : geax saguard 2.2

at the rear shock; there is about 9mm of travel before the tires hit the derailleur stops.
