    27.5 Convert?

So I have been riding MTB for almost two years now, previously did road but got tired of cars. I started out on a 29" XC hardtail and am now on a 2018/9 SC Blur TR with the front fork at 120. I had always thought, and maybe even heard, that 27.5" were great for smaller people. Maybe that is true and I mistook it for taller riders "should" use 29" instead of 27.5"? Anyway I am now have a better understanding of this and how different wheel sizes can work in different arenas or types of riding and wanted to try the 27.5" out.

I picked up a SC 5010 demo yesterday and WOW was it fun. I could pop off most anything and it boosted so easy. It also seemed much better in the turns and to manual. This was the kind of riding that is really enjoyable. It didn't climb as well as my Blur it wasn't really bad, even forgetting to change from open mode. I had one PR on a downhill section, and one third on an extended section that had both ups and downs. I have ridden both of these sections on multiple bikes from hardtails to longer travel 29" so that was impressive to me.

So is there something I'm missing or am I just really late to the fun party? I mean this bike weighed 5-6 lbs more than mine but seemed to ride lighter. Thanks for any insight!

I just made the switch to 27.5 from 29. What did it for me was taking a demo remedy to a bike park and having the bike want to hop off of everything. I am not going to lie though, I really miss the speed my 29er carried. I felt much faster on it but it was also glued to the ground.

Yes, I did notice this but really only on the extended flat sections and the bike I'm demoing has plus tires so I figured that was part of it also.
