    Tire size question

Hello, I have been going back and forth on this decision all day long, probing all corners of the internet to try and figure out the right choice.

My current hardtail is a 2004 Diamondback Topenga EX (old and cheap, I know, but it rides well and I love it to death).

Recently, I have been looking into getting a new rear tire for the bike. The stock tires on the bike are a set of 2.1 WTBs that sit on 18mm rims. My question is, I would like to put a 2.25 WTB Trail Boss on the back of the bike. However, I am worried the 18mm rim will not be able to hold it. I am not the type of rider to take fast turns in downhill. Please help me out!!!

No one answered this? Dude, you should be fine. It's not like you're going from 2.1 to 2.4 tires but even then it can still be done if you have the fork/frame clearance. Go ahead and run the 2.25 Trail Boss. I like to run Vigilante up front and Trail Boss in the rear.

If you are concerned that 18mm wide rims are not big enough for 2.25" tires, don't be. They're fine.
I expect you have plenty of room in the frame for the very slightly wider/taller tires, but just take a look and see what you think.
