Thoughts on this 2007 Maverick Matic XC

Hi all - been lurking for a while and out of the trail riding thing with an AC separation, but I've got the bug again. I'm currently on an old but serviceable 2006ish Trek 4300 with pretty much seized front shocks. I'd like to pick up a new-to-me used ride to try out on some local trails I've found. Thinking I might want to try a FS, as I've never tried one before.

I found a sweet looking 2007 Maverick Matic XC on CL for $350. However, it needs a rebuild of the front fork (looks to be an SC32 - not DUC 32 like the ad states). Anyone know if Ethan F is still supplying kits / doing rebuilds? I haven't tackled one before, but I'm certainly game for trying. Should I be concerned with any other parts, etc, since Maverick is out of business?

I also found an older Gary Fisher FS for $200, but I think it's a 98, so not sure that's really any sort of upgrade from my weathered Trek.

If it's helpful, I mostly ride easy to intermediate trails (not true mountain) with minor to moderate elevation changes. Roots and rocks around here in RI - sand, root and rock out on Cape Cod. I was thinking FS mostly for a somewhat more comfortable ride on my aged (44 year old) body.

    Cheers!

Thanks - I saw that one too - I'm in touch with the seller. May be a tad large for me (ad says Med/Lg - I would likely fit a medium), but for short money to figure out if a FS is right for me I might give it a go.

Haven't checked FB marketplace - I'm not on FB at all.

To answer one of the underlying questions: yes, Ethan still services Maverick Forks. Suspension | FlowZone
