Orange X1 rebuild. Need replacement fork suggestions/solutions to 1 steerer woes

Hi, new to the forum & in need of hive-mind wisdom. Im renovating an X1, xfusion O2 Pro rears - older ones, decent nick, butchered Judy DH up front. Thought Id managed to find a good replacement with RS Recon Silver SoloAir, 26, vbrake mounts, perfect. Nope, theyre a 1 1/8 steerer, the Judys are 1.

Can an anyone think of a good way around this? The Recons can go back, Im gutted but I wont lose out. Whats more concerning is the prospect of trying to locate half decent 1 steerer shox or finding a 1 1/8 model for which there are 1 steerer/crown attachments that can be swapped out (is that even a thing? Do they exist?)

Im too invested in this bike to give up on it, the Judys are ok to ride around town on but theyre knackered - Ive cleaned them up & stuff but there a slight bit of play in the ends when pressures on them. There not fit fr purpose & need to go. Got a feeling I might have to look at RSS to find 1 forks.....

You are not going to find a 1" fork, other than some really bad Walmart quality on ebay. Probably 10 or 15 years ago you could swap a 1" steerer crown/uppers on to many forks, but those simply don't exist anymore. In fact 1 1/8 is starting to disappear. Your only real choice is to find something used on ebay that is in better shape than what you have, but even that will be hard as 1" suspension forks, even when new, were extremely rare.

If the crown is a bolt together with removable stanchions, it's a good start. You can swap in another Judy lower assembly that works.

Budget? The stuff is out there, very few actually willing to pay for a 20 year old fork.
