Could be a worn chain. How many miles do you have on it?

Care to share a picture? What crankset/bottom bracket are you using? which side of the BB are the spacers on? Any info would help.

This bike was originally a 3x. When older bikes are converted to 1x, the single ring needs to be where the middle ring would have been on the old crankset. Most likely, the single ring is now lined up where the large ring would be, and you typically wouldn't ever be in that chainring cassette combo when shifting on a 3x. If your crankset is a BCD 104, just put the ring on the backside of the spider where the middle ring would be.

Itís a new crank and chainring it worked fine as 2x until I installed the the adaptor behind bottom bracket for the chain guide bashplate combo so I measured the adaptor that goes behind BB and itís 3.97 mm so I think if I shim the chainring over 4 mm it should be ok the things that happen in you mind when your sick in bed to make you think clearly ainít it something
