Looking for some riser bars for an old Stumpjumper.

Not sure what fits this stem. Looking to make this bike a little more comfortable for my wife to ride around the neighborhood. Not sure if the size.

Looking for some riser bars for an old Stumpjumper.

Most likely a 25.4mm clamp diameter on the stem, so you need a 25.4 mm riser bar.

Keep in mind, the more rise the bar has, the harder it is to get it through the clamp on the stem. There are a few tricks you can try.

Thatís why modern stems have removable face plates. Those types of stems are fine for flat bars, which were all the rage back when that bike was made.

Also, changing to a wider bar will rise will likely require replacing cable and housing as well. There probably isnít enough length to move the shifters and brake levers up and/or out very much.

Get riser handlebars, 4" and 5" are common, along with a new stem that rises higher gets you even more height.
