Help ID Diamondback frame and fork

Trash find on my walk this week, a 26" frame with components much better than my current 26" setup (2011 rigid POS). I swapped by tires, pedals, and grips over and it's a world of difference from a geometry and fit perspective. A good thing since my goal of saving for an upgrade this year is vanishing with the current bike market.

I have no experience with disc brakes and front suspension, so I'm trying to figure out a baseline. How do I tell the difference between an air shock and coil shock for maintenance? The bike is pretty much de-badged so I'm working blind. The frame appears to have an old DB logo, but can't find a year they stopped using it. The shock may be after market with the front disc brake, as the rear is a V, and the only marking is from RST on the adjustment. I tried to turn the knob a bit but it didn't seem to move beyond a wiggle.

The shocks compress under force (all body weight with the front brake set) and somewhat on the trail. Air is forced out of the side that appears to be missing a cap?

Any help would be great, just trying to find more info on the frame/fork.

So definitely a coil suspension fork, just finished tearing the whole thing down, scrubbing it out and re-greasing it. Got a bit more consistent travel out of it. Definitely seems like a cheaper fork, but still leaps ahead of the old ride.

Constantly trying to justify riding old bikes when in reality, I'm just too cheap to buy a new one.
